Pain is influenced by far more than damaged tissue.
It is a complex and highly individualized experience generated by the brain and nervous system influenced by sensory information, context, attention, expectations, emotions, and past experience.
Mind. Body. Relief. translates this into practical, experiential tools that help you work with pain differently.

A Resilience Approach to Chronic Pain
Pain Resilience Coaching helps people develop skills for responding to pain and other persistent symptoms with greater awareness, less fear, and increased confidence.
Through education, guided practice, and ongoing support, you learn to recognize how stress, thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations influence your experience and explore new ways of responding.
Pain Neuroscience Education - Reconseptualizing pain neurophysiology via metaphors to change pain beliefs.
Tools from CBT - Recognizing and re-authoring habitual negative, threatening, or catastrophic thought loops associated with pain flare-ups into adaptive, empowering, and safe narratives.
Mindfulness and Somatic Tracking Skills - Building non-judgmental, present-moment awareness. Acceptance diminishes the constant, exhausting struggle to eliminate pain before allowing oneself to live
Savoring - Structured training to consciously regulate emotions and anchor their attention in the real present moment ease and pleasure that IS available, preventing pain from dominating your mental space
Strengths and Values Focus - Identifying, and engaging existing your own personal character strengths so they become functional recovery resources.
Coaching complements medical care and does not replace diagnosis, medical treatment, or psychotherapy.

Relief isn't about thinking pain away.
It's about giving your mind and body new experiences and new information.
How it Works
Understand your pain - Learn what modern pain science tells us about persistent pain and why pain can continue even when tissues have healed.
Notice your patterns - Discover how attention, thoughts, emotions, expectations, stress, and movement can influence your pain experience.
Practice something different - Practice mindfulness, self-compassion, acceptance, nervous-system regulation, and mindful movement to develop new responses.
Create New Possibilities - With practice, the brain and body can learn that movement, sensation, and everyday experiences aren't always signals of danger.

About
My name is Colette DeHarpporte, MA, NBC-HWC
I'm Colette, a certified health and wellness coach, qualified MBSR instructor, yoga teacher, and pain coach specializing in the mind-body dimensions of persistent pain.
My work sits at the intersection of pain neuroscience, mindfulness, behavior change, and the lived experience of pain.
I've worked with people experiencing persistent pain and complex health conditions, including through research and clinical-adjacent coaching environments.
My approach combines the science of pain with practices that aren't simply meant to help you endure it, but to help you understand and respond to it differently.
Because pain may be physical, but the experience of pain is profoundly mind-body.
